    crystalyx

I've used them for years. I've found they work better in the cooler weather. When it is hot out the tubs tend to get soft and the cows will eat it rather than lick it. The winter months is when I've seen my best results. I run my cattle on hay stubble and corn stalk ground. You will see...

Bubble??? I was thinking that a few years back. It has yet to develop but I'm sure will rear it's head soon. I have a Stock Cow herd and also buy feeder Cattle. If I didn't have my cows to give me some calve's of my own. I'd never be buying feeder calves to fill my yards out. Look at the...

norriscathy...Just surious....What does that land Yield?? Bu./acre?? Three things are driving the prices here. Productivity, 1031's, and at the time not a lot of land in the Market as a whole. One other things in regards to outside people subdividing Farms. Your not welcome HERE!! Have a...

    Land Prices??? 1031's

    Backgrounding calves?

Running then Calves on Grass with light Grain is your most cost-effective gain. I live in a different part of the world..Iowa. Because we have so much cheap Corn guys tend to push them too hard when they are young. They get overly fleshly and won't fininsh out very heavy. I would check with...

    creep feeding????

Bez...The only time I carry a bag is in the spring to get them started. I start them early in the calving pasture (Feb, March) when there is no grass. At that age they go through very little creep. Mama's milk is better. Once the grass starts growing I don't give them any creep. Mid-July in...

    creep feeding????

In regards to the subject of creep taking up the slack of a poor milking Cow...I think it will still show up at Weaning. Even with the Creep if she is a poor milker that calf will have a smaller weaning wt. compared to the rest of the herd. Get rid of the cow!
