    Herf question

Whether you have a pasture full of Brahmans or Black Angus, crossing them to a registered Hereford bull, either horned or polled, with good to great EPD's will be profitable for you and your cow/calf operation. Those tiger stripe Braford replacement heifers are very hot sellers right now and...

    The NCBA convention in Nashville.

I went this year and won a $250 New Holland Gift Card plus a Tru-Test Gift Pack. I'm not sure what's in the gift pack but I'll let you know tomorrow when it's delivered. A great trade show but I'm still not sure if it's worth the cost of admission.

    What does your wife drive?

She drives a 2015 BMW X5 which is great for her because she teaches on Lookout Mountain and has to drive up and down the mountain every day, often in rain, fog or slick conditions. The tires are wider on the rear than on the front and holds the road like a sports car. Fun to drive with great...

    Receiving/Load Out Pens

I just joined at posts so I'm not sure how it would work if you joined the panels away from the posts. I had to rent a rock-breaker for a Bobcat to get through some very big/heavy rocks and this was when it was 95+ degrees outside. Man it was hot.

    Receiving/Load Out Pens

Oh yeah, they also have inserts that attach 2 pieces together so no welding is required. It's just a short piece of pipe that fits in each end of the panel on the top and bottom bars. Seamless.

    Receiving/Load Out Pens

Chad at C&B provided me with these high strength U brackets that lag onto the wood posts. They're very strong. I'll see if I have a picture or take one later today.

    Receiving/Load Out Pens

I just built a corral using the same kind of panels from C&B in Athens, AL. I spaced my posts 5' apart. I had to buy stainless lag bolts and pre-drill some of the holes for the bolts when attaching them. It really came together nicely though and should last awhile. I'll try to post some pictures...

    Waygu question

My Bro-in Law and I are in halves on a ranch and about 200 brood cows in Florida. He wants to put a Waygu bull on about 30 of our Brangus/Braford/Brahman. I think it's beyond stupid. I'd much rather run a quality Super Baldie or Hereford bull in there. Tell me I'm wrong. Thanks.

    New Cow Pens

I allowed room for gravel/chert/hay/manure build up. I'm going to start with sewing fescue in there but may move to another soil covering at some point.

    New Cow Pens

I left enough room on the posts that I can add a 2x6 later on if that's a problem.
