    What to run pto on?

A Tedder rarely if ever needs to run at full 540. You kinda need to watch it and see what kind of spread you're getting, Different crops and different moisture levels are going to spread differently. They usually Ted with the JD 5065M here in PTO-E and the tach around 1200-1300.

    4 x 5 round balers?

That's a good price on the JD 458 as long as it's not 458 Standard model. If it's a 458 with full cover side doors and Mega-Wide pickup and netwrap, it's a good price. My absolute only pet peeve with Vermeer Rebel balers is there's no bale shape indicators, mechanical or electronic. All their...

Baling with a power reverser trans.

The 5065M here is smooth as silk when using just the Power Reverser. Wife and I test drove a 5085E the other day and nearly gave us whiplash when just using the Power Reverser, don't know if they need to reprogram the modulation on it or what but there's no way one could use the PR on that...

Give me some tips for sprayer pump care..

We went with a Delavan pump on our sprayer. The body of the pump is solid Stainless Steel. Have been flushing it really good with clean water after each use and then just putting clean motor oil in it for the past 3 years. http://www.delavanagpumps.com/products/roller-pro/ I believe it was...

Vermeer 5410 Rebel or New Holland BR740

My biggest beef with the Rebel is no bale shape indicators. I watched a hay demo with one about a year ago I asked the Rep. about it and his answer was, "make your windrows right and you don't need able shape indicators". I'm like well if that's the case why put them on the 604N and up Vermeers.

    Kuhn MoCo

AllForage that was a great price. No one around came anywhere near that with H7220. I did see that Kuhn is doing the mower discount coupon deal again this season but only $1000 off of an FC 243RTG, last year it was $1500. I also noticed they listed a FC 2860 TLR, which is their new design with...

    Kuhn MoCo

We have some experience with both the FC 243 RTG and the H7220. My wife and son bought a used FC 243 RTG 2 years ago and after one season the rubber rollers started to pile off at the ends. This mower had supposedly only cut 200 acres, still had the majority of the paint on the cutter bar and...

    Pressure washer

A pressure washer can be your best and worst friend. When you start washing stuff like round balers you ruin bearings real quick by injecting water past the seals. We have a 1800psi Karcher that does everything we need it to do but we don't wash any balers with it. We do use it wash the...

    New Hay Tedder

If buying another, take a serious look at a Krone. Built like a tank, heavy enough and large enough tires to stay on the ground and has edge control so it doesn't throw crop out of the field.

Why is John Deere wanting Kubotas so bad?

Their tractors are made by LS up to a certain point, about 50hp I think. The CaseIH 50 we drove and looked at had a plate mounted on the rear marked and stamped made by LS in Korea but still had a premium price, $38K with a loader.

    Mahindra tractors

" This same tractor was price to me this week new for $26750." Probably emissions cost increase. Mahindra has not gone via the DPF they using a DOC(Diesel Oxidization Catalyst).

Why is John Deere wanting Kubotas so bad?

That's pretty vague. "Aren't built near as well as a Deere." Like what parts? The whole thing or just parts of it. We have a JD 5065M with a cab here that so far has been great but is it better built than a Kubota M7040 not sure, it's heavier but that doesn't make it better built. Here there's...

    Kubota disc mower

Kubota bought Kverneland which in turn got them Vicon also. http://ien.kvernelandgroup.com/ We saw a Kubota Disc Mower Conditioner the other day at a local dealer, definitely a Vicon but appeared to be built really well. The tires on that thing looked to be a 16-18" wide. If my wife hadn't...

Checking out some new Deere paint

The 6000D series is finally going to be available this year with up to a 24F/12R transmission. Seems like a nice tractor with less bells and whistles and in a somewhat decent price range. http://www.deere.com/en_US/products/equ ... eries.page?

Checking out some new Deere paint

We're looking at taking on a 5th tractor and looked at the 4066R but it like the Kubota L6060 both have a DPF. Just not wild about that at all. We got a 5065M 2WD with a Cab and 16F/16R with Power Reverser about 3 years and it's Tier 3 emissions so not too big of a deal but these new with DPF...

    john deere 5075e

If the 5000E series is anything like the 5000M series, very little is US made. We have a 2011 JD5056M with a cab and 2WD. The engine is from Mexico, the Transmission is from China, the Hydraulics are from Brazil, the Cab is made in the US and the front axle is from India. It's a 16F/16R with...
