There is really no need Cotton. The hereford clean up bull makes it clear they are not pure gert calves. I do appreciate the Charolais info. Going forward I will be looking for 3 foundation females.

I have had the same issue twice. I once had a calf go 11 days past AI date and another that was 16. I run Santa Gertrudis cows and AI to Santa Gertrudis bulls. My clean up bull is a L1 hereford. Both calves were clearly Santa Gertrudis calves. One cow had not even been exposed to a bull...

I'm hoping to get started in Charolais cattle this spring with a few top notch females. Does anyone have male sexed semen available for Char?

Been a few recent post about Charolais. For those of you in the know, where would you go to get a start with a handful of registered cows? Preferably in the southeast, but not a deal breaker . I mean the ones that have plenty of milk and can raise a heck of a bull calf.

I don't have my gerts tested until 15 months.

Wanting to learn more about lines in the Charolais breed. What AI bulls are folks using with the most success for producing bulls? Specifically lower birth weight calves that still have that Charolais growth.

I am in southern middle TN. I am wanting to purchase a brahman foundation type cow. I love them and my son does as well. I will use AI on her. I feel that I need to get one that is already adjusted to our regional climate and fescue. Does that make sense or would that not be an issue?
