Use the purple Palmolive dishsoap - Oxy Clean. or Sullivans Bright Lights (also purple) both work, but dishsoap is cheaper. Don't use too much, may dry hair.
We have a "County Calf" class at our County Fair and the calf has to be born in our County to be eligible. When the 'regular' judge places the class, the announcer gives the number of the top two county calfs and they come back at the end of the 'regular' show to compete against each other...

This will be my daughter's 4th year showing a steer at fair. She also has a heifer that she takes to prospect shows. This years calf is a bit different from any others shes had. He is friendly enough and leads ok....until something spooks him. It can be most anything. Tonight he stepped on...

Thanks!
I actually may have my problem solved!! Today, one of my heifers came into heat and the Ram (yes, sheep) was the first to notice! He is following her around and smelling her and acting just like a bull! Too funny!
Hi - Only have 5 cows at this time and want to start AI'ing them all. Does anyone lease the HeatWatch® Estrus Detection System or maybe have a refurbished one for sale?
I have heard that teaching a steer to walk by dragging them behind a ATV or tractor is the way to go AND the worst thing you can do - anybody have thoughts or opinions??
I actually have that info, but thanks - was actually wondering if anyone else has used it for pasture, and not hay and if they were happy with it - any problems = etc.
Our County Agent is recommeding we use Stargrass spriggs for our new pasture. It is about 14 acres and will be used for cattle and horses. Right now it is bare dirt (fairly sandy) becasue we have removed the palmettos. Has anyone used stargrass as a pasture and any comments or suggestions...
