Anything that has a bony or lengthy tall look, but not much meat around the bones don't sell worth a sh"t around here. I take mine to Lexington which is on the stocker buyers sheet. Those buyers in Lex. Know animals realll wellll. If they didn't, they wouldn't stick around long. They like black or white calves. A little red is tolerable, but striping or motley colors will get you a solid $0.25 per pound less.Remeber the thread on Corrienti cattle, wonder how'd they'd look on his sheet?
Interesting to see the guys at Lex. Taking them to other sales?
I was under the impression that there isn't much left there and was always told, if you don't have a home for calves once you buy them, you will get hurt ($). It's just a matter of when!
