Will you have enough cattle to have a full time calf puller or will you and your wife do it all???

Why will he have to pull calves? He was talking about using Belgain Blue cows, not Belgain Blue bulls??? Brangus and Senepols don't throw large calves as a rule do they?

Many of the calves delivered by Belgian Blue females are done by way of C-Section. If he wanted this cross seems he would be better off using a Belgian Blue bull on some Brangus and Senepol females.
From what I understand that is the case when BB are bred to BB.

I have had Senepols before and I assure you I would far rather breed a Senepol bull to Belgian Blue cows than breed a Belgian Blue to a typical moderate frame easy keeping little Senepol cow. Brangus x Belgian Blue is a really scary idea though.

You are correct. From looking at the BB up close I just wonder how well the females can calve even when bred to another bull.

Last year at Houston I talked with a BB raiser for a while and he had some pretty interesting stuff to say about the breed. Lots of embryo transfer, due to the high number of C-sections. He also had a BB X Angus bull calf about 5 months old that was very impressive: Solid black, looked more like an Angus structure wise, but had more muscling than a normal angus calf.

I guess I didn't realize that Belgain Blue cows had difficulty birthing but then I don't know much about that breed. We used to have some but we never had any trouble with them.
