It was 105 at 3:00. We drove into Baker for an ice cream cone. I had two scoops of huckleberry in a waffle cone. Long drive for an expensive ice cream cone but well worth it today. It feels like a convection oven outside. I notice there is no activity at any of the neighbors. Everyone is staying in by the AC. We have two of them running full blast the best they can do is keep it inside to 75-76. The dogs were sure happy to get into the laundry room when we got home from Baker.

I don't know why this message is bold and typing this isn't. Tried to change and it wouldn't work. Oh well to hot too worry about it.

We are supposed to get above 100 today. I'm going to try to stay near the swamp cooler this afternoon. I got some hay baled this morning before it started heating up.

We normally get a day or two above 100 in a summer. The last couple weeks we have had more 100 days than under. And the below 100 days have been 98 or 99. I am looking forward to some below zero weather. Bring on winter.

Arent those curly tailed pig testicles in that photo?

Its what you are used to. We are Texans, used to normal Texas summer heat. You get your work done in the morning or late evening.
Moved to Oregon now the 85F feels punishing. Got to do farm work early or later. Maybe we are just wimps.

85 on the coast with the humidity is worse than over here on the east side of the state with no humidity. Baker just 25 miles west is 800+/- feet higher elevation and 5 degrees cooler. So our 100 degree day here is 95 over there and there are lots of shade trees which help even more.

You have to start at 4 a.m. Quit at noon. Cool off. Get a good shower. Then eat a huge lunch and go in to hibernation under the A/C and fan. Get back out there around 7 p.m. and start prepping for tomorrow. Take another shower.
