New at this game. How often should cattle be wormed to best control parasitic infection and what method has best results? Starting with (5) 2yr olds and 2 calves. Also, what initial preventitive vacinations should be done.

Also, what initial preventitive vacinations should be done.<p>We usually use Ivomec on the cows in the spring and the fall. Worms are usually picked up on pasture so we worm when the cattle come off pasture. We treat them in the spring to get rid of anything before they go out (its easier when they are at the barn, rather than bringing them in from the field). Some years we have used Safeguard on the calves in the spring at the same time as we do the cows. Good Luck
