Work stress

What aspects of work are causing the stress? Employees/coworkers? Financial? Productivity? Retention/ recruitment? Are you able to narrow it down some?

Some very basic techniques include:
Walking(preferably outdoors)
Good sleep habits
Visualization
Journaling/documenting about your day
Exercise, cardio, lifting, or martial arts
Stretching/yoga
Mental decompression (this requires frequent introspection and self assessment to ensure youre maintaining balance in your life)
Leave work at work

Self medicating, through drugs and alcohol, is not ideal. A lot of people do it, but it leads down a dark path. Getting a hobby where you can take your mind off of it is a good start. Maybe something so different than work that you’re forced to forget about it.

Accept that there are certain things out of your control and find peace in knowing you did your best regardless.
And it may require making a very hard choice.....

Can you give me some insights on how to manage work stress?

Back off and look it in the eye. Decide where you will change to make the job easier and whittle it down a little at a time. Might be a route around if you look closely. Can you find a different line of work. If it is farming or ranching you end up with minimum wage returns.Look elsewhere for an occupation that you might enjoy.

You should discuss it with your physician. Stress is a "killer".

Don't place importance or value ( I like the word - substance) where none is needed or at least not much is needed.

Now - the trick is doing that! I get stressed during my AI breeding season because I place a lot of substance on getting it done without a bull.

You are supposed to burry that stress way down deep, and stay miserable until you turn 65, then enjoy 3-5 years of doctor visits before you croak from a heart attack. Seriously, it's the American way. Now suck it up and get back to work!

That is a great line by the Dalai Lama.

Seriously, I just started telling grouchy people to call someone else. I have also noticed that I'm less grouchy with everyone else since I took that approach......Even the ones that can't figure out how to do their job. It's going to rain, freeze, drought out, break down, blow hoses, get sore in the back, have a buddy stop in unexpected that you haven't seen in a while, want to go fishing, spend time with family, check the cows, etc, etc, etc, and it'll all cause stress to someone, usually a customer, if they let it.

I was in the tire shop several years ago waiting on a rake tire, and one of my old neighbors, Bud, was doing the same. Along comes another neighbor, Wally, and says "Looks like you guys are having a bad day". Bud replied, "*%$& no Wally, it's just a flat tire. If they'd been shootin at me, I'd have retreated to your place first thing this morning!"

Become a bum, and live off the government.

Even bums experience stress. Handpandling is a very anxious occupation. I did it for about a year in Denver. It was so stressful, I went back to my job at the EPA. They have nice warm comfortable offices and a warm place to go to the bathroom. 8)

Just become the guy that causes the stress instead of the one that gets stressed.

Hey boss, I'm taking the day off. The voices in my head told me to stay home and clean and load the guns.......

I've been experiencing some of that here lately at work. I'm helping out on Fracs and those co men are a bunch of moody, cry babies. They are constantly POed over some thing and taking it our on every one else. 99% of it is stuff completely out of their control. Its a shame when the youngest guy there by 30 years has to tell them to suck it up and act their age. Its like being back in high school with them and their constant drama.
