I don't know what our high was today, but while preg checking my calves this morning I was sweating, and had to take off my jacket. It turned out being a pretty good day for it. only two out of 44 were open. Our forecast for today was mid 40's
 
We are supposed to be in the mid 30’s for morning lows by the end of the week . We’ve had a couple of light frosts but not a killing one yet . Started putting out hay for one herd this week . They still have a little grass but pasture is getting short .

The high was about 45 with 22 this morning at sunrise. I don't break out the long johns until it get around 10.

I consider 80 to be too hot. Bearable but too hot. Upper 30's and 60 is just about right.

The wind here in this valley never stops. And has been pretty stout lately. I just cant stand it when my legs get cold. Ill be in a t shirt and pant with long John bottoms on. Thats comfortable to me.

We've also been in the 70s and 80s til recently. Im slowly getting adjusted.

When it gets down below zero and I need to work outside for extended periods or out playing in the snow with the kids I do wear insulated bibs. But normal day to day cow stuff, plowing/shoveling snow, etc, I just wear the same pants I wear all summer long.
 
Neighbor says I am tougher than he is because I don't wear long underwear. I told him the difference is that he runs 300+ cows and walks out the door sun rise and is outside until sun set. I am retired. 30 minutes to do chores and if it is cold I am back in the house tossing another log on the fire. I use my flake feeder to feed the cows while sitting in the truck with the heater running. He is up on the back of a trailer flaking off 7 or 8 bales while the tractor slowly pulls him across the field.
