Had a very happy ending today after having the crap scared out of everyone!

Pager went off around 1pm and the 911 center sent out a mass alert to all the phones in town. A 2 year old girl had gone missing from her house.
The house was 3 blocks from the store so I started up that way on foot others started to arrive on bikes, ATV's and vehicles. Started doing sweeps of the area looking for her. People were walking the river bank and called in boats to search. Kids were riding their bikes looking.

After about 30 minutes we were all informed she had been found!

Turns out she had been in the house the whole time. She had gotten out of bed where she was taking a nap and had crawled between her parents bed and a night stand and fell back to sleep. Mother could not see her there and had found the back door open.

I did that to my parents once when I was about 4. We had moved into a new place and I got out of bed, turned around and ended up falling asleep in the living room. Apparently, they were pretty freaked out. It's been almost 30 years and they'll still bring up the story.

Another time I was a bull riding and I heard a woman tell the security guard that her kid was missing. Now, as a parent, I can't imagine anything scarier.
