Whole corn and ADM Beef trate

Actually, this is about a week before butchering. And the guy also only guessed. Another guy told me thought they were probably more like 850 and 950 pounds respectively. Yes, the total hanging weight for both of them was 1,060 lb. In the last 3 weeks they really started packing down the food. Like 50 or 60 lb a day of grain feed between the two of them. I kind of wished I had kept them longer but the guy said there was a good. Even fat cap on the whole cows. I think they turned out pretty good for a couple of Heinz 57 mutts. I may get a couple longhorns next time, these taste excellent, but I've got a buddy that does roping and when the calves get a little big he told him I could get a couple of those.

My math says 58% yield. I’d believe that looking at them. There’s a lot of bone in that white face and not a lot of muscle on either.
 
Yep, probably has to do with the breed. The guy that I bought my ATM beef tray from he bought four cows in the same day. One was an Angus that weighed about 1,400 lb and it looks like it could have eaten mine. Lol. I fed them as well as they could have been fed and the meat turned out great. So I'm going to call the wind from my first time around. Everyone told me it was ridiculous to feed grain to the cows from 450 lb slaughter time, but I told him I'm not in the business of selling cattle for profit, I'm trying to see how good a hamburger meat I can make. And it's pretty doggone good.
