they should average out to 50/50 but it is possible to swing one way or the other. it's pretty tough to prove anything like this that is based on opinion and takes years to determine.

Mitochondrial DNA is passed only by the dam. Many geneticists theorize that mtDNA is responsible for much more than 50% of the maternal traits.

though possible, i have seen conflicting data and hocus pocus to change the basic theories so far.

i will stick to my simplicity until it is obvious i am wrong.

bull prepotency will probably have more effect the mtDNA.
