I saw a craigslist ad for a young Brangus bull. I'm in the market for one. The ad says he's registered, and he looks good in the picture, but he appears to have a fair-sized white spot underneath. Does anyone know if that's allowable in registered Brangus? And if so, for a bonus question, how likely would he be to pass it on?

Brangus can be registered with some white on the belly as long as it does not extend forward past the navel or sheath. There is always a small chance for a bit of white usually on the udder or belly with all brangus but usually a small spot. I've never seen it hurt their value unless it exceeded the limits set by IBBA.

TexasBred,

Thank you for replying. This one's spot is well back from the sheath. I think they're a little high with the price (19 months old for $3500.00), but it's within about 1/2 hour from my house, so I may go take a look at him.
