What time do you get up

I hope. Not having to go to work would give me about 10hrs a day of extra time. I'd like to think I'd be able to fill that 10 hours with 10hours work or less, instead of trying to squeeze 10hrs work into 3 or 4 hours at night after I get home.

When he was retired my grandpa always rolled out at 5-5:30, ate breakfast and went out to the garage and either worked in his garden or piddled with something until lunch time. Then he'd eat lunch and take a nap, then be back in the garage or garden until supper. After supper was for sitting on the porch when the weather was warm, or crossword puzzles during the winter.

He never got in a hurry, and always had time to be interupted by noisy kids to go fishing or fix a toy we had broken. Amazing how much stuff he got done just piddling. He always had something to do, but never had to hurry.

That being busy without having to hurry, and having time for an afternoon nap and sitting on the porch is my dream for retirement. I don't want to quit working, just quit hurrying through it. I'm always in such a danged hurry to get something done so I can get on to something else that I'll be in a hurry to get done, etc., etc..

I think it's like when somebody tells me not to worry so much......... then I start to worry about worrying.

For the first year or two it is easy to get those 10 hrs of work done in 10 hrs. After a few years you will find all you really need to do is 3-4 hrs.... if that much. :D

Been their trying to do 10 in 4. Not good for you. At least it wasn't for me. I'm a much more pleasant person now.

For the bast 20 months I have shifted into the so called retirement mode. I get up when I wake up and go to bed when I want. Sometime in bed at 8pm to 3am up at 1 am but never up later than 6 am. I do not know how I did all that was done before I started staying around the place. I will go into town about 6 am and tell lies and relect the president until about 8am back stay around doing what has to be done and never get it all done. I have desided not owing the bank and not being obligated makes a person worthless, but I am not going to change.

During most of the year, I get up around 3am and am at work by 4. During the summers when I have show calves in the barn, it has been 1:30, which makes for VERY long days.

I don't have a schedule anymore. When I retired I put my wrist watch away. I don't make appointments except for the Dr. or the Barber Shop. I wake up usually between 3 and 7 am. Sometimes I get tired and take an afternoon nap. After the evening meal I usually go to my recliner and I am done. Feed me and turn on the TV and I will go to sleep.

Kerley, you still have to go to the barbershop for real haircuts?? I can understand going there to catch up on the BS but heck....my wife can cut my hair now and I don't even have to take my cap off. As for naps....there is NO bad time to take a nap. (unless you're driving off course) :???:

i get up by 7am most mornings.an if i sleep in im up by 8am.an i go to bed about 11pm.ive never used an alarm clock even when the dairy was running.

I'm in bed by 10:00 most nights and up by 3:00 in the morning. Usually takes me about an hour to wake up. After that the adventure can begin for the day.

I generally get up at 5:00 during the work week and sleep in to 6:00 on weekends. But it does depend a little on the time of year. In the winter I have been know to lay in bed and wait for it to get light outside. Especially when I can hear rain beating on the roof.

Depends, while I'm at uni I don't need to be up early. But I still get up between 4.30-6.30am. Depends if there is something on my mind, or how late I stay up. Or how early people in other states and timezones text me, looking at YOU Keren. Actually this morning I was up at 5am thinking and got a text at 5.15am from someone else.

I never go to bed. If you're playing full tilt poker and some Australian guy named ozgestapo sits at your table, leave immediately.

My Husband wakes me up at 5am when he gets up and brings me a cup of tea at 5.30 - 6am I drink that say bye to him as he leaves, and go back to sleep until about 9am. I don't go to bed though until about 3am as I can't sleep before that I just toss and turn, so as to let my hubby sleep I stay up. My sleeping patern changed when I had my youngest and he would sleep 3 hours in 36 he was a night mare sleeper, now I can't get him out of bed. It has been known for him to go to bed at 1am and get up at about 5pm.

I always considered myself a morning person, but I don't think morning starts in the 4's or 5's for me. In the winter I usually get up 6-6:30am . The kids get on the bus at 7:30. It doesn't get light very early so it's a little hard to get up. In the summer we all get up earlier and get the show calves in the barn before school. I do like to be outside hoeing early, very peaceful.

What time do you early, early riser guys go to bed? I'm 10:30-11. I guess I still need a lot of sleep.

I am usually up before 5.

A few weeks back pneumonia got the best of me. Right now I am sleeping my tail off. Its hard to get used to. One morning I slept until 7:30.
