Any word on her yet CB? Sure feels nice to get the last one done. Now just turn them out in the bigger pastures with tall grass and forget about them for a month or so.

Alan I just got back from walking or swiming through our normal humidty to the wood's in the creek bottom.
No domino yet she is hid out off by herself so I figure she id getting close.
I continue to be amazed how a 1400 pound red and white cow can hide in the wood's.

A low pressure system came through the San Antonia area they got over 12 inches in the last 24 hours ,I am 60 miles east and got 2 inches it is so dry here the water did not even pool just soaked into the ground, Maybe it will help the Edwards Aquaifer in the S.A. area and the lakes and rivers. :banana: I am thankful for the 2 Inches :banana:

A little farther north and east....they didn't get anything.....as usual, but are blessed to have gotten some good rains and showers throughout the previous 2-3 weeks.

Hook please investigate what really happened in Astatula for the farmer to lose his cattle. They were underfed, but if they were working with him for 2 months? Was he a butt head, or just needed some help? Hook can get us the real story. Our news likes to sensationalize.

I saw that but don't know the story. The news said they were malnourished but they looked like a lot of other cattle around here to me. Hays run out, rains haven't kicked in yet. And were in a 4 year drought. Looking at the video, I've seen animals in far worse condition. But The video was taken after they were seized. So they may have been on feed and hay for a while. There's a lot of good animals that are thin right now. Stocking ratios are way different than they were a few years ago and some haven't caught on to that yet

A pretty large Hereford breeder in our community had his herd seized last year, skinny pizz poor looking animals, seems like around 130 head. No excuse for this guy, he has plenty of land, just didn't take care of them. County took them, put them on some county owned land, fattened them up and sold them. This is one time I was on the government side, they did things right and it cost the tax payer little or nothing ..... Although I never heard what the county did with the money. :?

Here they would have "re-homed" the gentle ones to backyarders who couldn't treat them any better than the previous owner and euthanized anything that had enough life to it to not be a pet.

If he didn't get a check in the mail for at least what the skinny cows were worth then it was a money grab by the state and either way they should have sold them as is and given him the check directly. If they want to make money fattening cattle then they should have sat at the sale and bought skinny cows like the rest of us.
