I need to get our web site going asap. Whom do you use, or that you like the best . All input from AB and Western Canadians especially that have website is very much appreciated . :tiphat:

It might be helpful if you could clarify this just a little. What I mean to say is are you looking for a web host? or a web page designer? or both? in regards to a web designer you can go one of two ways. One of which is to hire an actual web design specialist let them know what it is that you want and what you're willing to pay then let them do the work for you. The second is to design the page/site yourself.

Certainly the second option is more cost effective if not time sensible. If you're not familiar with writing HTML coding then you might want to look in to a CSS or 'Cascading Style Sheet' such as dreamweaver or a straight up web page design program. CSS will give you more options and freedom to build your page as you wish. A page design program such as the layouts that are given to you from free hosting companies are more straightforward easier to use but limited to the amount of options available.

Then you get into the subject of actually HOSTING the web site. if you don't mind external adds on your page then you might consider setting up your site with someone like geocities. However if you want the site exclusively to yourself without pesky and distracting adds AND you don't mind paying for it then you can get your own domain and host server relatively cheap from companies like HostGator and GoDaddy.com.

again it depends on exactly what it is you're looking for when you say 'Whom do you use or that you like best?'

I use GoDaddy to host my site & I do my own. I use Microsoft Front Page. Very user friendly.
First you have to pay for a domain name (GoDaddy), then you need someone to host it (GoDaddy), then you or a hired person designs it & uploads it.

I use ix webhosting for almost one year now and I really like their services and their prices. I have a small business homepage and I never had a single problem so far.

I use Web 66 for my hosting..and I hired a friend of mine to design it.

I maintained our old page by myself for awhile..but I got to where I did not have alot of time. my designer created a much more "finished" looking page then I could and she includes updates..

It does need to be updated..badly..will probably do that this month..
