The dude was a bad guy! Intelligence says they were planning an attack on Americans. I don't disagree with taking him out. I do question the strategy and seriously question the action being taken without notifying Congress. I will wait to form a final opinion.
Why so?
Drones have taken out dozens if not hundreds (maybe thousands?) of individual terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan for years now without any prez notifying congress ahead of time.

The difference here is that we took out what was essentially the equivalent of the Vice President of Iran (while he was in Iraq-that is a whole different problem). We would not be in this mess if we had not broken the nuclear treaty. As I said, he was a bad guy. I am still withholding judgment until more facts come out. This has not been the most truthful administration in history. Plus, it now appears that, what used to be our European allies, were not on board. I will wait until I know more.

One thing is for sure, it won't end here. Iran will respond and no one really knows when or how.

Half of congress is in bed with the terrorist, I wouldn’t have told them either. If they are not directly in bed with them they hate America and Americans as much IMO.

While I wouldn’t go quite that far it does stand to reason that our chances for success went up exponentially by keeping the mission under wraps. Something about loose lips sinking ships comes to mind.

When I say Congress in this context I am talking about the leadership of both parties in both houses. This is what is traditionally done.

I don’t hear the Senate Majority leader whining about not being briefed.

That’s not Mitch McConnell.

Sorry, I misread your post, I thought you said, the minority leader. And I would not expect McConnell to criticize anything Trump does.

And I would not expect Chuck U Schumer to give credit where credit is due.

No Europe wasn’t onboard with disruption of their oil.
That wasn’t a nuclear treaty!
You mean the treaty we snuck billions on plane to pay them treaty.
That was an extortion treaty for oil and “protection “.
Out of curiosity were you even alive during the Iranian hostage crisis?
This has been a rogue terrorist regime for over 40 years. Peace is the last thing they want. We will never have peace with Iran under their current political system driven by radical religious ideology.

No problems. Someone name Rose McGowan has apologized to Iran "for us" and begged them not to 'kill us'.

Modern day Jane Fonda I suppose.

Reported here on the news it was on direct orders from Donald Trump, things could be tense for a little bit.....
That's PRESIDENT Donald Trump! News media might not have respect, but I do.

True he is your president, but i am from Australia so he is not my president, just as Scott Morrison is not your prime minister. I am not a disrespectful person.

I saw a video in which an Australian politician got a real earful from some of the wildfire victims. I assumed it was the PM. The girl doing most of the talking sure didn't hold anything back, but if what she said was true, I don't much blame her.
Hope your country gets some relief from that inferno soon.

Redgully - not trying to bust you. Just tired of the media NEVER referring to him as Pres Trump. Obama was Pres Obama across the board. Disgusting how they use little things like that to brain wash our people. If they don't respect him enough to call him President, why should the public?
And I sure hope the fires settle down. Here's hoping for rain in the new year!

It is obvious you live in a civil part of the nation. I heard President Obama referred to as that "f******* n*********" more often than I was comfortable with. Even though not a fan of his Presidency, that doesn't seem right.

I apologize for the innuendo. I don't like that language and personally never use it. But it is the hard truth. I doubt any president in history was ever more slandered and name-called than President Obama. I suspect President Trump is getting some of this treatment in retribution.

Iraq invasion 2003. Short war planned in and out. Been there 17 years now. Where will it end no one knows. Killing one general will not end it it will prolong it. I Hope not. Some of the young troops being trained were born at the starting of the war. Only one country over there that has not had much damage Saudi Arabia. One American killed and we start the drone attacks. One American based reporter killed and dismembered and the USA did nothing. The Mideast is like Brer Rabbit hitting and kicking the tar baby once you are stuck you cannot get loose.

Your timeline is a little skewed due to rose colored glasses.
We have been there since 1944!

We have a President who isn’t afraid to unleash the dogs of war.

Let’s roll.

One of the qualities that I like about President Trump has been his restraint in getting the US into new wars. I hope he don't squander that.
