Tips for making it rain...

I have heard paying the preacher a little more could help with the rain. Mowing down hay makes the percentage of rain go up a lot for me.

I usually leave a couple sacks of cubes in the back of the truck and hope for a downpour!

Got like a tenth the other night. Supposed to rain tonight and tmrw tho! It's almost midnight. Maybe I should wash the truck and leave a sack out til morning. It's worth the 10 bucks!!

Getting half the field so-till drilled with orchard grass seed, get a call from owner of pasture that they are out of water... did not put in any cut off's when they put in some new frost free hydrants; STUPID..... drained the 2,000 gal reservoir so they were out of water at the house... and can't shut it off leaking hydrant/line without shutting off ALL outside water.... so had to stop and go move all the cattle out because it was 90 and no water in other pasture since it was higher than the one that was leaking... with plans to go out somewhere and then it RAINED over a 1/2 inch last night with less than 20% chance, so can't go finish getting it planted....
At least he put the extra bags of seed inside on the truck seat after filling the drill.....

We are bone dry. Hasn't rain here in September and most of August and the last 3 days has been the high 90s. Weird for this time of the year

I have heard that running naked from the house to the barn will make it rain. It may just be a rumor or an old wife's tale. I don't know because I live in Western Washington where simply waking up in the morning will make it rain the majority of the time.

100% this! Happened last time it rained over a month ago. Even partially ruined some salt blocks (someone stuck them in a bucket that actually held water)

That's worth $746 today according to a quick google search. Pretty cheap for a million dollar rain, which is what I've heard them referred to, but that term hasn't been adjusted for inflation either.

We've been powder dry for weeks now. It's started raining the last couple days, 3" a few miles away, 4/10" here so far. I was hoping to get enough to give the fescue a boost for its fall growth, not looking likely at this point.

Spoke too soon. Rain gauge says 2.4" this morning, slept right through it. It had to have came gently.

I find the key to making it rain is tied to a couple of things. First you have to not be needing it, knee deep mud is something a rain cloud can’t resist. Otherwise a lot of fresh dug dirt you lack a few hours of having graded out, really nice hay in excess of 20 acres that is almost but not quite dry or any outdoor event you have been looking forward to for months.
