This is strictly academic. Keep this simple.

What is the value in cutting taxes under circumstances where the fiscal revenue is insufficient to cover spending? All it does is accrue to the running national debt.

Why do people think that is so great? Any stimulation in the economy is offset by the deficit spending.

Why are Americans so easily deceived?

If taxes are cut - then they should be offset by spending cuts to pay for them. Otherwise the tax cuts are just a burden on future generations.

It is just a shell game and has been for quite a while now. You ask why Americans are so easily deceived? Is it deception? Or are we distracted, disinterested, or otherwise content with getting ours now and future generations can work it out later; possibly after it all comes to a head. It's an ominous problem with seemingly no one in leadership interested in solving it. I believe Our Tuxedo'd friend in Tennessee is correct; {next step, slash spending}.

We've got to stop giving such big tax breaks to the tippy top of the financial world and give it to the middle class. The self employed are getting hosed. And fix the dam-n healthcare system and you'll do more to stimulate the economy than giving tax breaks could imagine doing.
