Useless statistics.

Why do you say that.
Because there is no allowance for disparities in average income between the states. A more credible statistic would be total percentage of income paid in taxes on a state by state basis. If that's what they were shooting for, they missed.

Here is the statement as how the the ones doing the study came up with their figures: GOBankingRates examined the average amount residents pay in sales, gas, income and property taxes in every state. I would think that they had access to all taxes paid and divided by the population of the states would that be that average. I thought it would be a good article for the Taxed Enough Already crowd to know. In the past when I came across an article that I thought would be interesting to other on the board I would post it. From now on I will read it and keep it to myself.

a good indicator.

"To determine the residents with the biggest tax burdens, WalletHub compared the 50 states across the three tax types of state tax burdens — property taxes, individual income taxes and sales and excise taxes — as a share of total personal income in the state. Read on for our findings, commentary from a panel of tax experts and a full description of our methodology."

That average is not meaningful as an empirical number with no regard for personal wealth or income. Keep on posting Hurley, if I think it's nonsense there's a pretty good chance I'll say so. Don't take it personally. :D

Yes, and Tennesse does a lot with a little. Better roads than Kentucky, better schools the list goes on and on.

The cost of tolls to get to destinations should be considered too. Those bridge and tunnel tolls are ridiculous.
