Small this year. We over did it too much last 3 years, so just planting the one next to the yard. Get about 14 fifty foot rows if I plant 3 ft apart--more than I want to mess with really, but am going to wait at least 2 more weeks to plant anything except the berries. Winter is not done here yet either.

skyhightree1, I will be in Farmville the first week of June. Is that about right for some fresh veggies.

Kenny I should have something fresh for you if mother nature cooperates with me lol and would bring you some as I am always in farmville going to see my sister at longwood college.

Grey winter is definately not done here. My garden is lil over 2.5 acres. I plant for my family friends and my guys that work for me neighbors or anyone that wants to come pick it and I also give some to the older people that can't pick it that I rent land from.

I will be teaching at the Wildland Fire Academy that is held at Longwood College that week. Small world.

Very small world. If I have something in the garden thats ready I'll bring it down to you or maybe meet up with you and grab a drink or bite to eat.

Kenny this rains getting ridiculous here. I bushhogged some of my garden last week all but the onions garlic and collard greens and was planning on breaking it up but up here its a soupy mess in the fields and gardens what about there?

Drought index here is 0 on a scale of 0-800 meaning the ground will not hold any more water. We have gotten over 1 1/2 inches today so creeks are high. Usually people here are starting to do a little garden by now but not this year.

Last fall the predictions were for a colder and dryer winter. They sure missed that one. We have had almost 14" of rain since Jan 1. It now shows a wet trend for the next couple months. Warm also.

gotcha... I cant wait to get my garden in the ground. I am gonna try to be self sufficient from stores minus milk cheese coffee sugar stuff like that

Yes--planted last weekend. keeping my fingers crossed too for no more frost.. Put out my tomato plants yesterday in 81 deg and a front came blowing in cool and wet last night. 40s again tonight. Some green beans are started up, a few little sweet corn tips just showing, and turnips are 3 leaf already.

I hooked up to my 4 bottom plow monday and went to break up the garden too wet so just backed out and will try this weekend but guess what its snowing today and supposed to be a heavy snow sunday. I am gonna try to plow and disc saturday and plant I am only planting potatoes peas onions garlic cabbage now everything else will get planted mid april.

I made myself a greenhouse one rainy day this winter so I'm pretty well started on spring. :D
I have potatoes in bloom and another set up about six inches.
The slicing tomatoes are all eighteen inches or so and will bloom this week some time. The sauce tomatoes are right behind them.
Squash is up and going as are the first set of green beans. I'll plant pole beans and my shelling beans tommorrow if I don't get sidetracked
Sweet corn should imerge any day now.
Melons are up but not doing a whole lot.
Onions are going like he!! as is the garlic.

Now we're in the spring duldrums... All the winter stuff either bolts or tastes like crap but there's nothing coming in from the spring stuff. :cry2: This year I'm going to focus on stuff I can preserve instead of so much fresh stuff that it goes to waste.

you are good lol I am behind but will make up for it this weekend however. I am cutting up some potatoes so they heel over now.
I just cut up my seed potatoes.
