Spot on udder

Noticed this spot on a 9 year old cow. Her udder doesn't seem to stay as full as in the past. 6 month old calf seems about normal. What is it?

Looks hard. Won't know until you get her in, examine it and check her teats to make sure she doesn't have mastitis. But could be nothing more than an old wound.

looks like an abscess to me. shouldn't affect milk production if that is what it is.

She normally has a very full udder. Seems like her production is down. I need to look closer.

I would say that she may have had mastitis and it is either an abscess or was an abscess and healed over and is now just a scar type bunch of tissue. If that is the case, getting her in the chute and trying to get some milk out of that quarter would be a way to see if that quarter is even producing. If it seems she is producing less milk, then she very well might be... and may not even be making any milk in that quarter....
