I am low on cow hay. I can either get rained on wheat hay or non rained soybean hay. I have never fed soybean hay? I read there is a lot of waste with soybean hay. Does anyone have any experience? Thanks.

I have fed soybean/pearl millet mix hay. They licked the ground where it was.

Like everything they'll clean it up better if it's ground. We raised the straw chopper on the combine and bale right behind that way I get more hulls and soybeans that slip out of the sieves. When it's not chopped stems they tend to sort more.

They should eat it ok, bean hay is a lot different than bean pummies after the combine, but my cows eat those pretty good too. If you want mix 50/50 molasses/water and dump that on a couple bales in the morning, and feed them in the evening. Might get them more interested in the new hay.
Be better for them than rained on wheat.
