Would love to go to the Sampson McGregor sale in Alberta on the 31st March. They have some nice young sires on offer. Some good blacks as well as the customary reds. Shame I'm so far away. Need a good black sire to use over my black SDs.Theres one lot by a very good polled red Australian sire. Torr Down Hermes 3.

I owned the Prairie Granite 112G bull with Sampson's he was probably the soundest bull of any breed I ever owned. A real studhorse in the breeding field too-were way up in the five figures in carcass premiums on his calves. We have a few hundred straws of semen in the tank off him so we'll use him for awhile yet. My daughter has some purebred South Devon cows but we don't pursue the purebred deal in that breed at all.
