Snowbirds

I don't know how temperatures will be but we have storms lined up coming in one after another. Lots of rain and wind here as they push each other to the east. These storms are warm enough that it is rain down here near sea level but the mountains are catching lots of snow. So if that cold air in the central USA stays put this moisture will bring more snow. I am ready for spring.

Maybe I can make one or 2 post till the battery in the broadband card goes dead. Icestorm overnight, trees down all over and power has been out since 2am. Entergy just texted---estimated time for restoration-5pm March 5 tomorrow. Gen is ready for a few lights and the freezer/refrigerator, but it won't run the well. Oh well--got coffee off the campstove and soup warming up. Later--I got to check how many trees down on the fences. All I've heard is trees and limbs falling in the national forest since I got up at daylight. Looks like wewere just in the right place to get this--rain, then ice pellets, then the rain started freezing on everything including the powerlines. Should get up to 37 sometime today and start raining in earnest.
I hate trees, I hate their guts and feathers.

On the map above, I'm in the Isom, just above and to the right of the IAH designation. (Bush Airport)

Just got off the phone with GB he is screwed on power for a day or two.
We can ride him like a stick horse now. He is out checking fence lines and playing on the tractor.
He is so lucky.

It got nearly 50 here today but tomorrow's high is 33 with freezing rain before, then snow.
Then Thursday and Friday in the 50's and then back down in the 30's on the weekend
It's been like a roller coaster all winter
