I butchered a pig for the first time today by myself. I had only seen deer done. Over all it wasn't that bad a job and with the proper setup could be done quick. Now if the butcher accepts it and I didn't ruin all of the meat I will be happy. I may do it again?

Does your Mama know you've done this?

Must have been a real job using plastic knives.

If you went that far why take it to a butcher? Butcher it yourself.
I ended up boning the whole thing today, but I was new to it and ended up bring in alot to be made into sausage. Now I have to figure out how to cut the ribs of with only a plastic knife. I wish they made a smiliy flipping the bird.

No, I said I botched the job with it mostly going to sausage. If it wasn't 20 degrees and I hadn't all day to do it then it may have spoiled. It wouldn't take as long next time but I am no expert. Ended up with 91# of sausage.

i have a Ohio accent and talk very backwoods, I pronounce everything wrong and that is why my spelling is so poor. I don't sound like anyone from my area. I talk to people and they ask where I grew up and I tell them 15 miles from here and they are stunned.
