Tiger is good. But I have just one question on the war.

Where the heII are these rag heads getting the explosive materials? This is a rhetorical question because I think I know, so the real question is why the heII can't we stop the flow of it! Take away the weapons and explosives and they got nothing.

SUPPORT OUR TROUPS

In Jan. 2004 when the first car bomb went off at check point #1 in the Greenzone. They traced the plastic back to a semi truck load of it they caught coming in from Iran on the border ...the driver laughed for 3 days...finally he told them you caught me but you didn't get the other 12 loads that came in.. that bomb killed 19 Iraqi's. There is SOOOO much stuff buried here thet they may never find all of the mortars,RPG's & rockets... thank god it is old & 50% doesn't go off or it it not reliable as far a accuracy...1 hit 250 yds. from me 2 days ago but no one was injured... This might answer part of your question Earl...

JDI: If I understand your post, you have served a tour of duty in Iraq. Were you in the Army, Marines, or one of the National Guard Soldiers that were activated for this fight.

Not to answer for him, but I believe he said 2 days ago. I think he is actually still over there. I forget if it is with the troops or privately. I know I won the bid on a Simmental bull that we were both bidding on because he has sporadic access to a computer and the Internet. I am sure he will answer the questions when he can get online though!

JDI Stay safe and no matter in what aspect you are helping over there I am sure we all appreciate it!

Former President Bush Sr.:
"Son, you might be making the same mistake in Iraq that I made with your mother years ago when I didn't pull out in time."

Said long ago that I wouldn't make anymore political posts but have mixed feelings about this conflict. Just hope and pray that the country makes the right choices.

it seems that anytime a war continues for more then a month or 2, there are the people that start claiming we should either get out or make peace at any price. I don;t know if it's strictly an American trait

It sounds like a tenacious frenchman. I guess this country had some french people in it in the early days and it still shows.

Yes, Aplusmnt I'm still here in Baghdad at least for 10 more days. (R&R & then return for 6 more months) How are the calves looking out of the bull you stole from me LOL...this tread all started over a guy I work with who doesn't think we should be here but backs up to the mail box & puts that check in his pocket every month!!! Just p*ssed me off to listen to the biggett!!! Espicially after one of the guys I was working in the same dept. with took 19 rounds in the chest a week or so ago. Sorry for starting a political thread!!! Earl if you loaded every weapon that the Iraqi public has on train cars I don't think there is enough cars in Iraq to hold them. I guess I just need to vent some frustrations off!!
You guys & gals just keep arguing about the CAB & putting picks of your babies & moma's on here for me to look at.. this site helps me keep going KNOWING one day I'll leave here & get to look at my babies when I come home. I also learn a lot for the oldtimers that will be helpful some day.

Got his first three calves on the ground now! The were all born on snow and ice in below freezing weather. All were up and nursing and moving in no time. I think they look nice but not a good judge of day old ones. I will post some pics when I get some developed. The have all been pretty low BW also, i was excited about that because I used him on some heifers.

Keep your head down and stay safe!

Ps. You can come get the bull and feed him for 9 months out of the year if you want. I just need him for 3

I just dont get it. Does it make any sense at all for people to say taht we are losing the war and then they say we should pull the soldiers out. To me that is saying that the lives that was already lost was lost for nothing a cause that didnt matter to finish. I just dont get how they think that pulling soldiers out will solve the problem. Do any of you?

Did you see that actor type guy on TV that said since we have nuclear weapons that Iran should have them too?
Those people are completely crazy. But what's worse is all those that flock to them and idolize them.

Free speech or not, that kind of talk would not have happened in the WWII era.

The way I look at it, any "rights" you have, you also have the responsibility to use a little common sense in exercising them.

I will say this...when Hollywood gets involved, any kind of wisdom begins circling the the drain. In my opinion, any candidate for any office, Republican, Democrat, Indepent, needs to distance themselves as quickly as they can from Hollywood's dingfods.

This is my opinion, and only my opinion. Unfortunately, pulling the soldiers out will not solve the problem. We made the mess...we need to clean it up. Right now, the problem is the one pushing the broom.

Scary thing is we might end up with another Clinton who has no idea what a broom is. And the closes thing he has ever came to a broom is when he hid in broom closet with an intern.

I am afraid if Hillary gets in office when the time comes to do some Sweeping in Iraq or Iran she will not look in the broom closet because to her that is just a Hiding place for Bill and his girls.

I just wish the Guy pushing the broom now did not have such a big mess to sweep up do to past Liberals that only hid in the closet.

Aplusmnt,

What makes you think Hillary will get the nomination? And even if she does, the woman doesn't have a snowball's chance in hades of winning. Why do you keep pounding away about that?

If she gets the nomination, she's classified as the front runner now with 3 times the acceptance of her nearest rival, a lot depends on who is on the other ticket.
Folks appear to want a change of partys no matter what.

I dunno, dun...if someone with the skill and stature and integrity of Colin Powell were offered up, I'd take a real close look at him/her.

I'm with you bvk. It seems a sacrilege to the dead and maimed to just say "We quit. What you died for is not worth finishing. Sorry about that."

Osama blew up a bunch of folks in those embassies and Clinton did nothing. He didn't want to rock any boats and hurt his popularity. So they then came over and flew airplanes into tall buildings and killed a lot more folks.

Then we sent in Stormin Norman after Saddam. He accomplised victory in short order and was positioned to go all the way to Baghdad. But Pres. Bush and the dove Colin Powell said no. It would cost more lives and we want to be nice. So Saddam jacked us around for 12 years and finally the second Pres. Bush goes in because his intelligence told him that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. So maybe the intel was wrong. But he did know that Sadam had murdered I don't know how many people over there and was completely ruthless. Now people say Bush lied. I don't know what he lied about. He was doing his best with what he had.

Anyway, They didn't let Norman take him out when he had him in his sights, so Bush did 12 years later. And now we are in a mell of hess.

Now Bush says we had better finish this while we are in it. If we don't it will get worse and we will have to deal with it later. But a lot of people are saying "Oh no, let's give it up."
Do they not think we will suffer the consequences later if we quit now.

I am not capable of saying what military strategy we should use. Apparently nobody else really knows either. But at least he is trying his best and is looking ahead to future long range consequences, which none of the others did.

Those people do not like us. If you back off they see that as weakness which they do not respect and they use the time to strengthen themselves. You cannot negotiate with those people. Any time you try to negotiate, you lose and they win.

BHB,

I truly wish she had not thrown her hat in the ring...for the simple reason that I don't believe she's electable. It's like with Kerry...I held my breath until he announced he wasn't going to run. Right now, the Dems need someone that can stand a chance...and I personally don't think it's Hillary. And, since I know Colin Powell has made it clear he's not gonna run, no way, no how, then I'd like to see Edwards make another run for the nomination...and WIN IT! That man is electable.

Well our agreeing lasted 20 minutes. Edwards  Not sure he would be comfortable moving to the White House, seeing how he just built himself a new 28,000 sq ft mansion worth 6 million dollars. Nice to see how someone can be in touch with the poor and middle class when he lives better than kings. Only one thing worse than a Politician that is one that got rich as a Lawyer before taking office. If we find out he sold used cars when he was young he would then won the triple crown of dishonest professions.
