In reading the history of the Revolutionary war and the un-civil war, it seems that anytime a war continues for more then a month or 2, there are the people that start claiming we should either get out or make peace at any price. I don;t know if it's strictly an American trait, but it sure POs me no end. All of the BS that's going on now just shows others how weak our resolve is and that we can be outlasted. In my mind that just strengthens the resolve of the ones we're fighting.

And the "Tiger" has once again shown his resolve. Seven in a row is four behind Byron Nelson. There is so much talent in him not to mention the amount of concentration he displays. I believe he will surpass Nicklaus in wins, but I have my doubts as to Nelson's number in a row. Time will tell.

My wife doesn;t like him simply because he is so good. She prefers underdogs and I usaully do too. But anyone that can make everyone else step to the plate and improve their own game/skills is someone I can root for.

Tiger is a supremely talented golfer. I never played the game (except a few rounds of miniature golf) so I don't have a sense of how hard that is. Considering Tigers income v. mine, I guess I shoulda kicked the cows out long ago and spent some time putting backspin on my wedge shot.

I think the average person who's never played golf may not realize how talented Tiger is. In college I played everyday, and consider myself a decent golfer, but could still only shoot in the low 80's at my best. To find someone who can consistently shoot par is rare, to find a Tiger is impossible!

This is one fight the USA has to win. It is either win this one or wait several years and fight another one. You give the generals the go ahead to take care of this and they can. My grand son's opinion on this, and he has been there, is give us the go ahead to take the real estate and keep it and we will win. He said that they would go in and stay a few days and everything was okay, then they were pulled out and everything went back to the same as it was. He also said that we had built schools and have made a lot of improvements and that the Iragis as a whole appreciated this and wanted a better life. If our presence is there for a long time then a lot of the young ones that have had contact with the Americans will grow old enough to lead and the place will be better.

My kids started playing J.R. Golf 2 years ago, so I thought I would give it a shot. I have shot par on one hole, and I still brag about it 2 years later. :lol: (we will not mention it was the woman tee ;-) )

In Jan. 2004 when the first car bomb went off at check point #1 in the Greenzone. They traced the plastic back to a semi truck load of it they caught coming in from Iran on the border ...the driver laughed for 3 days...finally he told them you caught me but you didn't get the other 12 loads that came in.. that bomb killed 19 Iraqi's. There is SOOOO much stuff buried here thet they may never find all of the mortars,RPG's & rockets... thank god it is old & 50% doesn't go off or it it not reliable as far a accuracy...1 hit 250 yds. from me 2 days ago but no one was injured... This might answer part of your question Earl...

JDI: If I understand your post, you have served a tour of duty in Iraq. Were you in the Army, Marines, or one of the National Guard Soldiers that were activated for this fight.
