years ago, we had the same problem. Dad accused mom of using the Charmin stopped up the septic tank. Since it was an old house, the septic line went out and stopped in a wet weather creek (but also below the ground) it drained into a barrel and rock was underneath it.
Upshot was, tree roots had it clogged and not the charmin. I have a 1000 gallon concrete septic tank here and lateral lines and have not had a problem in the 9 years I been here and I have to use charmin, otherwise that rough stuff gives me hemroids.
Caustic are you absolutely sure that tree roots aren't the problem?
