School started today

My kids first day at their new school. That has to be hard. I hope they make friends quickly.

I saw some students wearing their cowboy hats. I thought that was neat, didn't see that at the school we came from.

We have several schools here in our valley, but one of the neatest (IMHO) is one that is out in the middle of the ranching part of the valley...
These kids act like rancher's kids... They dress like rancher's kids... They treat others like rancher's kids...
And I use the term rancher loosely in that it also covers the farmer's kids too!!!
A couple of the kids are actually flown to and from school by their dad... It's really cool to see the plane land in the field next to the school...

Hi Gate, Good luck to your kids and you. My daughter switched to a new school several years ago. It turned out to be a great move. Hope the same for you and yours.

Dropped William off today at the Junior High and he didn't know where he was supposed to go in. I wished him luck. He was looking small and frail today. Junior High is the worst. I have been back at the school for the past week doing all that inservice stuff. No cowboy hats here. Lots of farms around here, but lots of city transplants. We have 8 blocks of classes this year with four minute passing periods. Should be good. I have been busier than a one-legged man in an a$$-kicking contest!

I miss being home. :(

Well the kids got home and haven't stopped talking about their day. They made friends and like the schools. Yea!!! Our son is a freshman and one of the kids he made friends with is bigger than most of the seniors. I told him that having a big friend is a good thing. :D

He got out of school early, I know, early dismissal on the first day of school? Anyway, he got out at 1:00 and I forgot and he has no key to the house. So when I pulled up at 4:00, he was there, shirtless, locked out of the house. At least he'd been swimming while he waited... :oops:

I went back 2 weeks ago. We got some new kids that transferred in from this place called Texas.I got a seat right in the front row with Alice, and we got a bully in the back named "caustic" that picks his nose a lot. Turnmawloose is the room "Mother".

Was this their fourth or fifth year.... I think that I had heard somewhere that that 3rd Grade was the five hardest years in a Tennessee boy's life....

Someday I'll get a diploma and gradiduate...

Only reason I've kept trying is because our teacher has a site on "You Tube" and she keeps using me and Warpaint as her demos. Today we learned about dialing "976" numbers and how nice the wimmens are you can call, that are a vital part of our in-state economics.

Tomorrow we're gonna learn about Escort services...I think that has to do with a model of Ford car.Should be pretty easy, cause the Janitor here at the school drives a Maverick with no passenger door handles. :shock :shock: :Warpaint says he knows this car very well.

I whined to the teacher about all the boogers gettin' flicked into my hair, so she moved me to the back of the room and moved TTCLM (room mother) to where I'd been sitting. That was was the beginning of a beautiful relationship...right Crowder? 8)

Now as to the booger flicker. He hasn't come back to school since I got moved to the back of the room. See, I accidentally put a cup of water under his desk and kicked it over. At my cry of dismay over what I'd done, the other kiddies in the class mistook the puddle of water for something else and began chanting all kinds of stuff. Poor old booger flicker's hide wasn't quite thick enough, I guess. :P
