Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience with red proso millet for hay. I am new to seeding millet for feed. If any one could help me, it would be much appreciated!

I decided that I am going to try about 6 acres. I will put updates of how well it does on here.

I just seeded it today. I seeded about 15 pounds per acre with no nitrogen. It also rained about hour and a half after I was done. Talk about cutting it close!

The millet just germinated about a week ago and it is already about 3 inches. The weather here for the past few weeks have been very unreliable. We go maybe 5 days of sunligh and the rest rain.

thanks for the updates..... I'm thinking about trying some new/different types of forage myself, and millet is one I thought I might try sometime. This is a good as second hand experience. :nod:
