Southern Montgomery County in southeastern Texas... Southern Polk County in southeastern Texas... San Jacinto County in southeastern Texas... Until 1115 AM CDT. At 912 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Conroe, Humble, Tomball, Cleveland, Willis, Livingston, Pinehurst, Kingwood, Spring, The Woodlands, Oak Ridge North, Shepherd, Panorama Village, Shenandoah, Splendora, Patton Village, Roman Forest, Woodbranch, Cut And Shoot and Coldspring. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Washington. Through Sunday morning Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain were ongoing early this morning across portions of the Flash Flood Watch area. These storms area expected to sag southward through the morning bringing heavy downpours with additional rainfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches possible today. Storms may weaken or depart the area by late afternoon but more storms are expected late Saturday and through Sunday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
