Agreed, dun. The seeds themselves are unique, what with the thick base and the small, stiff awn (that thorny or prickly descriptor you were talking about) make it look like it's prickly. Nothing like what dallisgrass looks like, sorry branguscowgirl.

No need to be sorry Karin. In the first picture the one in the center is what looks like Dallisgrass to me. The one in the lower right looks like the barn yard grass. But my view isn't so clear in the other pictures on my iPad. I am not afraid to be wrong either.
