After we started keeping our cattle on a good free choice mineral program, which was determined by pasture and hay forage deficiencies the problem easied up significantly. This opinion is based on ten or fifteen years, some wet with an abundance of irritants and also dry years. To further reduce the incidence of infection, we spray, use oilers periodically and use ivomec in the spring. Catching infection early is the key to cure and LA200 and sometimes coupled with neomycin, on cases that don't respond well to LA 200 has given excellent results.

We have not had a case of pinkeye since we started adding 2.5 # of ADE to our free choice loose mineral.
: If you can catch it early, Terramycin Crumbles added to some feed (1 cup per 1000# of body weight) will usually stop it pretty quickly. Sometimes it takes more than one dose of the Terramycin. Another good remedy (if you have a good working chute) is Furall Spray. Hope this helps, Darla *.~
: : I need some suggestions on how to treat and prevent pinkeye.
