Pen Rider Feedyard Jobs

I have been working for just 2 months at a Washington feedlot that paid 2800/month plus care for 3 horses. But, they have now laid me & others off, due to their "management". I enjoyed the work, but now know it isn't worth moving for this unpredicable employment. From the conversations at work, stability isn't a factor with pen rider positions. Are there long term riders out there?
