Yes prepared seed bed and drilled in. Plant Ryegrass the same way in the fall.

If your soil is really compacted that can happen with a no till drill. I like to broad cast then disc and never really have any issues.

Gizmom,
It really isnt a fair picture, this was a spot the army worms didnt get to, plus we had to pull the cows off of the whole patch for 10 days because of the chemical we used.. The rest of the field looks great, just not this great...
