Besides here, I visit Backyard Chickens occasionally when I have a question about a chicken. That's it. You all are my first love! :cowboy:

I can't get in the swing of things on other forums. I don't feel like I'm visiting a forum here. It feels like a conversation here on ct.

I do feel a lot more in common here, and I enjoy the dust ups too. I hate it when someone gets their feathers ruffled such that they disappear.

I go to
http://www.homesteadingtoday.com/ a lot. They have a variety of animal groups, cattle, chickens, goats, pigs and there are some smart people there. Most are small, but some range up to what might be considered small on CT, 100 head or so. There is an outstanding swine guy there, and Agmantoo is over there. I like him, and he has demonstrated great success with MIG and pasture management. Was running a MG bull on mostly black cows, and ringing the bell.

I also post there on the their general chat and politics. It is heavy on liberal socialist types and I like representing the more traditional view on things. I could use some help if anyone wants to come over. Gets fun some time, and they will delete your post, but you can get into politics, which is almost a hobby for me. You have to be a member, make so many post and explicitly ask the mod to get into the politics thread. MoCows is over there too. M5 tried it but maybe didn't like it. He didn't stay long.

http://talk.newagtalk.com has a political page now titled Trending Politics and Policy  Not sure what it takes for new members to get in. A lot of members have either been banned or leave on their own. Still some good conversations there, but not like it used to be.

IMO, the best place hands down for straight talk on politics with very little moderation is the Bash. Not for the faint of heart or those easily offended ;-) http://www.allthingsagriculture.com/Bashboard/

I stopped HT when it was sold last and the libs are 10 to 1 , I got a couple of reprimands and figured it was time to cut back some. I'm still a member only just lurk from time to time. Alot of people want advise but get pissed off when you give it.

You are right about the lib ratio. I have gotten very few reprimands. I try to curb my emotions, but the members SO sensitive there. Some are just whiney babies. It's a mission for me.

Do some more posting.. I need all the help I can get. Some of them are down right socialist.

Must be the same group that is at Oh How Cute!!---I mean Backyard Herds.
It's entertaining as heck to read and see just how ignorant and thin skinned some people are-----and they're all Just SOOOO Cute doing it.

Wow "not for the faint of heart" for sure!

IIRC, I have 1400+ posts at the Bash :) The Bash is definitely not for the faint of heart  Many topics forbidden here are discussed there. Also at ranchers and NAT. One of my all time favorite and most respected Bash posters is a 72 yr old grandmother who mostly weighs in on political or family oriented issues  Goes by the handle "Power Diva" and IMO she is 8) 8) 8)

I am John SD at every site I visit. I have never put anyone at any site on an "ignore list". Even if i can't stand the poster, inquiring minds still want to know what they are up to :p

Very few threads ever disappear at the Bash. There are not many rules at the Bash, but the few rules they do have are very reasonable and enforced when necessary. In my time at the Bash, I have observed only 2 regular members who were banned or quit posting on their own after being reprimanded by the site owner.

Trouble is, I don't even get to see the Bash avatars because I keep them turned off in the settings :( Avatars, or any pictures for that matter, are a liablity to me on any site with my dialup internet.

This is one of the slowest sites I visit, and I think a lot of it has to do with the pop-ups, and the avatars. If there was a way to turn avatars off here, I would. Maybe there is, and I just haven't found it yet The Bash site works quite well for me without avatars. It would be slow as this site if I had avatars turned on.
