Order buyers

Trying to do some research on ordering buying companies and have only found a handful such as JJ, Taylor Cattle, Scarmardo.. what others do you know of? I'm guessing different companies call it different things since I can only find a handful with google searches

You have to build a relationship with the man buying cows for you. Doesn't take but 4-5 cows to sort out what you want and don't want. If he gets something you just can't live with send it back through the sale. It's not that big of a deal.

If you want to find a source of cattle, I would recommend calling a longstanding bull seller and asking if any of his customers have the type of cattle that you are looking for. That way you can bypass the sale barn and all the hassle it entails.

If you are needing some cows, why don't you just call up Bubba Rutherford in Fairfield. Yeah the Youtube guy. Tell him what you want and let his network of buyers get them for you. He is a good guy and moves a lot of cattle from front pasture kind to one and done's. He will also work them for you where all you have to do is turn them out.

Back in the day (late fifties or early 60's) Grandpa used an order buyer to put together a group of cows for him. His biggest stipulation was that there be no black cows in the group. Well the cows showed up and there was a black one in the group. Probably not the end of the world but when the vet came and tested for brucellosis it happened she was the only one to test positive and of course a quarantine followed. For a year.

My first herd banged out.
Got .05 cents a pound for 300 dollar cows in the early 70’s.
Never could get two consecutive clean test.
