anybody put a ring in a cow? how did you do it? I see these self-piercing rings but how do they go on? you must have to use some kind of tool...??? what is the correct placement? (long story, haven't been here in a while how is everybody?)

you don't see it in the western world much but other places do use nose rings in cows too.. can't help with the tool though.
Gotta ask why you want to?

I have a pair of nose pliers if it ever really comes down to it.

That'll bring up a variety of them

I have one of these:

but looking through those images, one of these might be a better test alternative for now:

The nose rings have a couple of little screws that hold them together. Take the screws out and they hinge open one end has a sharp point. Just push the sharp point threw the thin part and screw it back together.

she's 1400 lbs and doesn't fit in the squeeze! :lol2: unfortunately she's been dehorned as well. we branded her in the alley but sticking her in the nose and adding some little screws would seem to be a bit of a delicate operation on large earthquake. I was thinking there was something more like an ear tagger that would do the whole install fast. I am going to try that spring loaded temporary dealy and see how she does.

That sounds so easy when you say it that way!
