The problem is the people writing the laws and controlling the media don't represent most of the people.
The problem comes in we have been out smarted by special interest groups bent on destroying our very foundations.
These groups learned to block vote and gain control the government and media while we argue among ourselves.

Sky, this may come to a surprise to you but the constitution doesn't guarantee every citizen the right to vote only that their eligibility cannot be denied due to sex, race or religion. The founding father's arranged it so that if you didn't have skin in the game you could not vote. This was echoed by Franklin when he said, " When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." So you bring up another good example of how not following the constitution and allowing special interests groups have sent the country down the wrong path.

As an outsider - and Canadian - this is what the rest of the world sees - at least through my eyes as a non-resident who has traveled through Europe and Asia and seen how the US administration is talked about from a non-elite view. I do not believe the people of the US have a bad taste in their mouth for Republicans (even though you do Sky) - or Democrats either for that matter. So I take you to task on that comment Sky

I do wonder how anyone could vote for the obama administration with the simple health care issue as a prime example of true federal screw up and "hurt to the public" - yet he gets a free ride - why? Because he is black and whites are called racist for complaining about a black president. There it is said. And then throw Reverend Jesse Jackson in to the mix along with that Al Sharpton and you have it even worse. The you have the black panthers intimidating folks at polling stations and the beat goes on. (What school of divinity DID the fine reverend ever attend?) What they do have is a bad taste in their mouths for liars and cheats and racial dividers and double standards.

The United States is in huge trouble today simply because of the media and uneducated population. Yeah, the uneducated population - which has HUGE percentages that have no clue about what happens outside their own 10 mile living zone. I place this squarely on the back of the residing ruler in the White House - Barry Obama - a man who spends millions in legal fees every year to prevent anyone from seeing any of his past records that matter - a man who goes out of his way to create this division - starting right from the day he won the Nobel Peace Prize for "FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS". LOL! Even the world governments and media got into it - he was lauded and awarded for doing NOTHING - but the people of the US clapped their hands and refuse to see anything - because if they do they are considered racist.

From my limited readings of this thread, it seems Sky does not see it and JO does. Jo I do not always agree with you but I always read your threads. In my opinion it took big gonads to start this thread and I have a great deal of respect for that. It has all been reversed and it means the US of A has been knocked back more than 50 years.

No, actually it is not. This is one of those myths where if people continue to tell themselves this in time they believe it is true. This is another example of how an ignorant voting populace coupled with their selfish wants sees things from a narrow selfish perspective which will ultimately harm the country as a whole and cause divisions within. Most today only see discrimination or any other loss of their constitutional freedom as something that effects them or their paycheck rather than considering how the loss of said freedoms affects others. If we were to remove all discrimination we would surely have to change the tax code to a flat tax. Afterall, is it right for one person to pay a higher tax than someone else? Is it right to levy a "sin tax" on a product that someone chooses to consume? Should we not all be treated equal - even in areas where we may feel uncomfortable?

Respect for the US of A and the US president on an international scale is at an all time low. Racial and discrimination within the US of A is at an all time high.

I place this squarely on the back of the residing ruler in the White House - Barry Obama - a man who spends millions in legal fees every year to prevent anyone from seeing any of his past records that matter - a man who goes out of his way to create this division - starting right from the day he won the Nobel Peace Prize for "FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS". LOL! Even the world governments and media got into it - he was lauded and awarded for doing NOTHING - but the people of the US clapped their hands and refuse to see anything - because if they do they are considered racist.

Have you ever read the fairy tale the Emperor Has No Clothes? If not you all should. And the media and the population fawn over him because of his skin colour and not his lack of substance and give him a free ride in fear of being called racist. He has been an abject failure and the US is in trouble.

But he is in power because more than 45% of the US is in government welfare of some type - and that is powerful - if you were a recipient would you vote to cut off that money? H.e.l.l. no and never forget "Yes we can!" I do not care about the opposition and how they had no one worth running the country - and anything else under the sun - the fact is Barry Obama is the president and he is ruining your country. A Democrat. And he is successfully doing it by dividing the country and I fear for you all. Because no one has the gonads to call him on it.

Racist - a cheap word that no longer means anything simply because now there are racists who are NOT white! Discrimination in the US of A very likely will continue to grow. It will grow along three lines in my opinion - Black, White and Brown. It will also be gun owner vs non gun owner - witness New York. It will also be religious - witness Detroit the largest muslim community in the US vs the Bible Belt. It will also be taxes for the rich who actually provide employment for others against taxes for those who do not strive to provide for their own. It will ALL be encouraged by the White House Administration and here is one small example.

The knock out game. Many black on white attacks - some charges of assault. A recent white on black attack. The charge? Federal Department of Justice lays HATE crime charges. Why? Because it helps stir the pot. Do not think for an instant that did not come from the very top. Barry and his boys were WAITING for this to happen so they could lay a hate crime charge - it further widens the voids.

From my limited readings of this thread, it seems Sky does not see it and JO does. Jo I do not always agree with you but I always read your threads. In my opinion it took big gonads to start this thread and I have a great deal of respect for that. It has all been reversed and it means the US of A has been knocked back more than 50 years.

And those little signs that started this thread come all the way from the top!

Do not ever forget that.

I wonder if the US of A will actually ever recover in my lifetime?

The above are the views of a person who does not live in the US of A and indeed has many family and friends in the US of A. I wonder why I see it this way and yet a minimum of 50% of US would simply look at me and tell me I am the problem!

As an independent I see the ruling class as being both parties. Both use the tax code, promises of benefits, regulatory agencies to serve their own selfish agendas. I sincerely believe that if we would follow and enforce the constitution we would be a stronger, better and more fair country as a whole. The framers of the constitution never promised anyone a free ride nor did they promise unfair advantages to certain special interests or industry. They simply said that everyone is equal and should be treated as such and that the Government had no place in the Church nor the Church in the Government.

What I had hoped to point out is there are many forms of discrimination, some subtle and some blatant. As a country we should strive to recognize the rights of others and be willing to defend their rights even if it makes us feel uncomfortable or if the infringement of their rights does not affect us personally because in the end - it does. Maybe not today but tomorrow. Just something to think about.

There isn't much of a difference Jo. We live in a country that voted for Obama twice, that should give you a pretty good idea of why things are wrong, America is atleast 50% scum of the earth people, doesn't sound good, but the polls have shown it twice now. Racism is the tiniest most on relevant issue in this country, but people sure do like to pretend it's what's wrong.

Wow calling someone scum because they used their constitutional right to vote and it didn't align with your agenda. Denver you always preach religion and are self proclaimed righteous man. Can you tell me where it is in the bible that tells you to judge and call names because someone doesn't agree with you ? I would like to read that. Oh well poof your gone.

That's just the way I see it. If people have a choice of a good person or a person who is against what the bible tells us is right and against what this country was founded on, but they can still vote for the person who would like to take all that away. To me they have judged themselves and just given the country the results.
