new toy

I had that same truck but in a manual transmission. Great truck except for the rear end, the fuel pump, the rear end, the interior, and the transmission. Other than that you might be happy with it.

ive had several of these trucks, i can work on em with my eyes closed,, even have spare parts put away,, hard to find em in the shape this ones in

It was my first truck, and I made a pile of money with it. And it got me from az to fl with a short stop in la for a heater core (didn't know then that you could bypass it).
Ran it until it got wrecked.
But insure hope you didn't give anywhere near that asking price.

That's my favorite Chevrolet body style.
My 2nd, my favorite is 72. I'd love to have one restored to look like it just rolled off the showroom floor, beauty rings and all.

I've had 3 that body style, like you said, I can work on them with my eyes closed. I had 38's on two of them. Good solid trucks, although I don't miss the Quadrajunk carb.

i built a ton of those, even the nightmare electronic ones.. we called them quadraboggs they made a dueljet the 2 barrel version on it.. if you were a tech. in the 80's.. you'd cry yourself to sleep at night :cowboy:

Nice truck to look at. My Dad bought a 86 long bed with that same set up. Could not spin the tires in low range when it was stuck in the mud. My son has a 79 with a 400 and 3.73 gears it will get the job done. Sure would like to find a nice body like that for his truck.

I finally bought an Edlebrock 600 and all my problems went away.
