Hill Creek, the bull looks like crap... he's got no capacity, no spring of rib just a pot belly. no depth. post legged. Gunna have a hard time "preforming" if he's got legs that are going to break down on him
 
Looks like the pic was taken when he was younger. Do you have a newer pic of him? I don't know if I would go as far as Jake, but while his numbers look o.k. (except for calving ease), his looks tell a different story.

Wow - that was brutal. I didn't think he was that bad. I don't consider him pot bellied, but most importantly, he does appear to have straight shoulders & rear legs. Structure is #1 with us.
 
I hope you have a better pic of him as I think I will have to hang Skillet ass on this one, looks like somebody flatted his ass out by beating it with a skillet. Dang I had to hang that on a Hereford.
 
Novice speaking here but I run Polled Herefords.

He's not a bad looking bull but I prefer more depth up front.

I would recomend a spell/grammer check on your website. I'm no English major but I noticed several errors and your website is the first impression a lot of people will get of your operation.
 
I will have a new updated picture of him as soon as he get home from Denver. That is where Sandhill Farms has him right now. I bought him from Sandhill Farms and there was a lot of interest in this bull out there. I have already had people call me about buying into him. Two of the breeders that I know of were Topp Herefords in North Dakota and Knoll Crest Farm, but Knoll crest Farm only backed out because he had a little to much birth weight on the bottom side of his pedigree. Other wise, Paul Bennett from Knoll Crest Farm was going to go in Half on this bull with me. Star Lake Cattle Ranch and Red Hills Polled Herefords bought a half brother to my niew herd sire named SHF Radar M326 R125. Radar sold for over $100,000 in Denver already. There were 35 breeding shares sold in the Radar bull. The owner of Sandhill Farms, Kevin Schultz, said that my new bull was catching a lot of attention. So, I am happy with my new purchase and that picture Kevin said, wasn't the best picture in the world. Kevin said that he is a lot better looking when you see him in real life. :cboy:

I'll throw my 2 cents in:

First, from what I can tell from the picture, I have to agree with Jake somewhat. He looks shallow in the chest area, and doesn't appear to have much spring of rib or capacity. He looks to be somewhere between weanling and yearling in this pic, so hopefully he will grow out a little nicer than he looks now.

I knew even before I looked up his spring 06 numbers that his CED and BW were not even close to being accurate on the website you gave us. With Governor on the maternal side, you better be prepared to end up closer to a -5 on CED and about a 5 or 6 BW, especially being as he had a 98 lb actual BW. I like M326 a lot and am heavily considering using him on some of my second calvers this spring. He seems to be a good growth bull with a decent sized actual REA and some good IMF numbers, both traits that are the wave of the future IMO.

My thoughts: he would make a fair cleanup bull, or a pretty decent bull for commercial angus cows. As far as basing a major part of my herd on him, I'd be a little leary. IMO picking a yearling bull is hard as they are in kind of an awkward stage and may not look as good as they truly are. Much easier to pick 2-3 yr olds. Problem is, by then, they are pretty picked over. Good luck with him, and let us know how his first calves turn out.
 
My new bull weaned off a weaning weight of 803lbs. Also, his dam is one of the highest milking cows at Sandhill Farms in Kansas. I am going to have a professional photographer come in and take pictures of him. There still is a lot of interest in bull, drawing out in Denver. I am glad that I am going to be breeding some of my stock to him. Can't wait till I see him. Just wait till I get some better pictures of him, because Kevin told me that the picture of my new bull wasn't the best. :cboy:
 
Did you see this bull or either of his parents in person? Or was it based on his numbers, that picture and what his breeder has told you?

I have seen his sire M326 and, but I have never saw his dam, only in pictures. Sandhill Farms has some of the best uddered cows in the Hereford breed. His dam is one of Kevins top milking cows and has done very well on all of her past progeny. She has a weaning ratio of 110%. :cboy:
 
THats good you saw his sire in person and pics of his dam. It was starting to sound like you were just taking the word of the breeder of the bull.

Actually, I saw him over a multi-media television on the internet. I saw this bull walk around and he walked very correct. Also, I had a couple of Hereford breeders out in Denver that actually saw him and took him out and walked him around and said that he walked very wel and that he is very heavy muscled. Also, they said that he is very long and has a nice spring of rib and depth. He has pigment around his left eye and they also concluded by saying that he has a great Srcotal Circumference. This was all based on what the other breeders that actually saw hima nd walked himaround. I think that as of 12/27/2005 he weighed in at 1170lbs. :cboy:
