New heifer

Help Support CattleToday:

Hey yall. Tara is my wife. The second pic of the cow is her mama and she was AI'ed with a black Maine bull. It was fun reading what yall all thought about her. We'll post a pic of her calf this spring. I just learned all this today.

We have a black Angus bull and a black angus cow that threw a red calf this year. The bull isn't registered, but his Momma was a black angus too. Beyond that, I wasn't around.

Its kind of like when you see a family and they all have black hair except for one kid and he has red hair. Genes are hard to figure out sometimes! Thanks Kaneranch

Black Maine bull must have had a red gene and passed a red gene to the heifer. She shows the Maine influence.

Springers, I might just do that. I use that Murray Grey on my heifers but I just might stick her in with them. That bull hasnt got real big but he sure throws the littlest calves Ive ever seen. Perfect for the young girls.
