Hey I got a heifer that's not herself the past couple of days. She is eating fine and everything works like poop is normal. But she is just calmer than she has been. I'm wondering if it just might be the move I did. In my barn I have the cows bailed up. So the way it went was my cow, the bull calf, n the heifer. So I switched the calf and the heifer so the calf would stop nursing mom (8 month old calf). I done this about a week ago. Now the heifer is calmer she let's me touch her Lil teets more and she don't "dance" in the bail much now. Not like she did but she had more space on the end she had like 90 degrees of turning area before. I'm just concerned there might be something wrong wit her. Her and the calf has a Lil head butting match for time to time.

Im have a hard time with reading comprehension of your question but I think I get most of what your trying to say. Your most likely worrying over nothing. if the obvious signs of health are normal then leave it alone . interaction tends to calm them down.

I'm sorry for the confusion it's probably my newfoundland way lol. But I'm probably just over worrying. She was kept home all summer and the other 2 were put on the pasture. Well all summer it was no trouble to tell when she was in heat. But sense everyone came home her heats are not so noticeable. So maybe that switched the 2 it's changing her a Lil more. I'm just over worrying because over the past 2 years I have had 4 cows and lost one to bloat and now treating another for worms. Just seems like I'm not having much luck.

Yeah I understand that it's just like it happened over night that's why my concern. But I have been a year now trying calm her down. This time last year she was tied on with chain instead of bailed. She would kick at the shovel when I'd clean out the manure and if I'd go to brush her she'd jump and kick. Now I'm able to brush her and touch her teets. I moved everyone into our new barn the end of October and even then she would sway back and fourth when I was cutting up veggies for their feedings. Now she is just as calm and easy goin as the cow.
