I watched The sale. I was unimpressed. Some good cattle, but also poor quality for a national sale. To many had 50% or less Aubrac blood. You could tell the auctioneer knew very little about the Aubrac breed. Not trying to be negative, but that was my impression. I guess you have to start someplace. It didn't seem like there was much of a crowd.

I was impressed. Great looking cattle, national sale or otherwise. I really liked that a variety of %Aubracs were offered for sale. And that auctioneer was on top of it. Not trying to be overly positive here. Astonishingly strong crowd considering the blizzard conditions.

Hi, Matt --

Sale conditions were about as bad as I've ever seen with a blizzard that shut down all the roads to and from the sale barn.

We had three bulls over $5,000, with the balance bringing between $1,800 and $3,700. We had some "no sales" with no bidding activity.

We had some inconsistency in the quality of the cattle, something you can expect at a consignment sale representing a dozen or so breeders. The top end of the cattle was exceptional.

All things considered, it was a good event. Thank goodness for Superior, which pulled our bacon from the fire.

Best,

Aubracusa
