My Lord, I shuddered when I read that. The same thing (the horse rearing and falling over backward) happend to my precious grandson (he was 9 years old at the time) at a playday. His horse was a piece of crap that just that day learned to spit his bit out. I won't go into the whole horrendous story, but I will tell you this...if I'd had a gun, I'd have shot that horse right there in the ring (and I don't have the guts to shoot a sick calf!). But I swear, I'd have killed that horse.
I know that my reaction was that of a grandmother. I'm sorry this happened to you...a broken rib is sooooo painful. Is the horse normally balky? Is this a horse that you've got a real attachment to? I'm sorry, hon, but, especially after what happened to my grandson, I'd think real hard about messing with that horse again.
I'm just so glad you are ok.
