Hey guys I should have sprayed my pasture earlier when the muskthistles were in the rosette stage but low an behold I didnt. So now the thistles are bolting an in early bloom. I just have patches here an there so I am going to spray with my 4 wheeler an spot spray. So what chemicals should I use. Remember there are cattle grazing out there right now so I dont want to spray anything that would hurt the cattle. If you have any recommendations let me know an the rate to use. I have a 15 gallon sprayertank. If worse comes to worse I will dig them out with a spade but hopefully the spray will do the trick. BTW idont want to harm the grass with the spray. Thanks for any help.

If you cut them half way between the ground and the lowest flower and sopray to run off with 7.5 oz per gallon of 2,4-d. Works good for us when the wife doesn;t get them in time. The problem with digging them out is that if you leave a piece of that root they'll just sprout and grow again.
