Psilocybin mushrooms definitely grow down here in dixieland. Haven't ever seen but a few in my pastures. I have seen a lot in other pastures though.

The purple bruising tells the tell. Foggy mornings makes them come out in abundance. I have folks asking me to "let them take their truck out to scoop up cow patties for their organic garden". Right. I may look the part but I ain't stupid. Besides, don't you need to be a grass farmer first to raise cattle. And it seems grass farming and shrooms go hand in hand don't they? :lol: :lol: :lol: Or do you only have to be a grass farmer to afford those high dollar bulls. I don't know. I'm so confused now. Maybe I'm growing the wrong kinda grass and selling the wrong crop off the pasture. ;-) :lol: :lol: :lol:

seems the shrooms are easier to grow than the grass....high schoolers down here sneak in thru the grove side in the middle of the night....i keep pushin the top of the fence back up and they keep rollin it over....bringin quite a bit of money i hear now. some things never go out of style huh

WE haven't had any problems with mushroom pickers. We have some "shelf" mushrroms that grow in our front tree. I don't know if that is the correct name for this mushroom. They are good to eat.

Don't think they recommend eating these that I have. I will try to get a picture or see if I can find one on the web. They are definitely not Morels.

Epidemic of mushroom poisonings has started in the Voronezh region of Russia. Ten people, including one child, have died of poisonous mushrooms in the region in July, regional Surgeon General, Mikhail Chubirko, stated Monday. Fifty-eight residents of the Voronezh region suffered from eating poisonous mushrooms in summer. Thirty-two people are still staying at local hospitals with acute poisoning. I am told by students that the ones under the patties are the good ones. Hallucinogenic, or however the heck you spell it. I had someone ask me last year about them. Thank goodness he didn't know where we live.
